Conference format and special session invited speakers

The 25th Annual CUNY Conference on Human Sentence Processing (CUNY-2012) will offer a program of 36 papers presented in plenary session, plus 150 posters arranged in three sessions, Wednesday March 14 through Friday March 16, 2012.

With support from the National Science Foundation, special sessions placed throughout the program over the three days of the conference highlight a variety of views on a question that remains a central one for the discipline: How should the relation between linguistic performance (language processing) and linguistic competence (language knowledge) be viewed?  Within those special sessions, presentations will be made by the authors of peer-reviewed abstracts and, additionally, by the following invited speakers:

Lyn Frazier (University of Massachusetts, Amherst)
Mark Steedman (University of Edinburgh)
Ivan Sag (Stanford University)
Sandiway Fong (University of Arizona)
Cristiano Chesi (IUSS-Pavia & Università degli Studi di Siena)
Noam Chomsky (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
Colin Phillips (University of Maryland, College Park)

Stay tuned for full program detail, which will be posted shortly.
